I love this time of year, and it is so difficult to come inside and watch some great tennis when the sun is shining and the garden looks and smells fabulous. So I have been dipping in and out of the French Open these last two weeks when I can and you cannot fail to notice the wonderful display of stylish Panama Hats on display.

These stunning hats are still woven by craftsmen in Ecuador, but sadly due to the complexity of the work and the time taken to make each hat the younger generation are declining to learn this ancient craft. As a result a true Panama ( named after the workers on the Panama Canal construction ) is becoming harder and harder to buy.

These hats are sent in their raw state to be finished in Italy with edging and bands.
